Tabriz:Parliament Deputy Speaker Hamidreza Haji Babaei has expressed that Iran's differences with the United States are rooted in the Iranian people's determination to maintain their dignity and secure a respected global position.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Haji Babaei made these remarks during a ceremony commemorating Student Day and the National Day of the Fight against Global Arrogance in Tabriz, northwestern Iran. He emphasized Iran's commitment to a prosperous future for its citizens and equal opportunities for its students.

Haji Babaei also criticized the United States for attempting to prevent Iran from accessing nuclear technology for peaceful purposes, particularly in the medical field. He questioned the rationale behind the attack on Shajareh Tayyebeh School in Minab, southern Iran, where students were killed, arguing that such actions indicate a direct dispute with the Iranian people.

The deputy speaker described the school attack as a significant scar in the nation's collective memory. He stressed that defending Iran involves not only military capabilities but also scientific progress, education, arts, and sports. Furthermore, Haji Babaei asserted that Iran does not seek war but will defend its sovereignty and territorial integrity against any aggression, warning the United States and President Donald Trump of Iran's advanced missile capabilities and the consequences of any new conflict.
