Qom:Iran has amazed the world with its advancements in technology, according to Minister of Science, Research and Technology Hossein Simaei Sarraf. The minister praised the country's universities for their strategic role in strengthening Iran's technological capabilities.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Sarraf made these remarks during a meeting with university presidents in Qom on Wednesday. He revealed that over 2,000 technological products are currently in development within science and technology parks across the nation.
Despite these advancements, Sarraf expressed concerns about funding for the science sector. He noted a decrease in its allocation from the state budget, dropping from 3.3% to 2.2%. Additionally, he pointed out that the sector's share of the gross domestic product is approximately 0.23, which is significantly below the official development targets.
