Tehran: Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has expressed his approval of the recent ceasefire in Lebanon, while commending the resilience and determination of Hezbollah fighters in protecting Lebanese territory. "We are thankful to God Almighty that the people of Lebanon can now spend this night in peace, away from the criminal bombardments of the Zionist regime," Ghalibaf stated during a press conference on Wednesday.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf praised Hezbollah's fighters, highlighting their honor, bravery, and wisdom in ensuring that not a single inch of their land was lost to enemy forces despite facing immense pressure. He also addressed Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's remarks about shifting focus to Iran and its nuclear program post-ceasefire, dismissing them as empty threats. Ghalibaf emphasized that Netanyahu had failed to achieve his objectives in Lebanon, even after deploying seven divisions to invade the south. "It's better for him to stop boas ting. He has already been defeated," Ghalibaf noted.The Iranian speaker expressed his hope that the peace established in Lebanon would extend to Gaza as well. Furthermore, he vowed that a revenge attack in response to last month's Israeli airstrike on Iran would be executed at an appropriate time.
