Iranian Parliament Speaker Reaffirms Seven Conditions for U.S. Talks

Tehran:Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has reiterated that Iran maintains its seven conditions for any potential talks with the United States, without introducing any new terms. Ghalibaf made these remarks during discussions with Pakistan's Army Chief Field Marshal Asim Munir in Tehran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghalibaf emphasized the deep mistrust between Tehran and Washington, attributing it to the U.S.'s historical actions against Iran. He highlighted that the U.S. government's violation of the Islamabad memorandum of understanding and threats from President Donald Trump have exacerbated this distrust.

Ghalibaf conveyed Iran's stance to the U.S. vice president during discussions related to the Islamabad MoU, insisting that the seven conditions previously set in New York are vital for rebuilding trust with the United States. He assured that Iran does not seek conflict but is prepared to defend its sovereignty and dignity.

He criticized Washington's military strategies against Iran, suggesting they have led the U.S. into a challenging predicament and urged them to take steps to resolve the situation. Ghalibaf also expressed gratitude towards Pakistan for its support during Iran's war and diplomatic efforts, underscoring the strong ties between the two nations.

Field Marshal Munir relayed greetings from Pakistan's leaders and confirmed Islamabad's enduring commitment to cooperation with Tehran. He addressed cross-border issues, describing them as technical and temporary, and noted that the Iran-Pakistan border had resumed operations on Tuesday.
