Minab:Iran President Masoud Pezeshkian has emphasized the crucial role that Iran's schools and universities have played in the development of the country's defense and missile capabilities. He highlighted the importance of investing in the younger generation to enhance national security.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Pezeshkian made these remarks during a ceremony inaugurating several educational projects. He paid homage to those who lost their lives in the Islamic Revolution, notably honoring student martyrs and victims of the Shajareh Tayyebeh school massacre in Minab.
The Shajareh Tayyebeh elementary school in Minab was tragically struck by a US missile on February 28, marking the first day of the US-Israeli aggression against Iran. This attack resulted in the deaths of at least 168 individuals, including 157 schoolchildren, sports players, school board members, teachers, and parents.
Pezeshkian also expressed gratitude to education officials and those who have contributed to school-building efforts. He stated, "If we are capable of defending our country today, building missiles and standing against threats, it is because our education system and universities have played a role in this path and laid the groundwork for such capabilities."
He further stressed the need for additional measures to prevent external threats to Iran's territory. While acknowledging positive progress, he noted that more efforts are required to fully deter any potential attacks. Pezeshkian believes that achieving this goal is contingent on the endeavors of young people, provided that there is sufficient investment in their growth and development.
