Tehran:The Iranian Red Crescent Society successfully rescued 7,250 individuals trapped under rubble during two major conflicts, as announced by Pir Hossein Kolivand, the president of the IRCS.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kolivand shared these details during a ceremony, highlighting the immense challenges faced by rescue teams amidst the chaos of the 12-day war and the Ramadan war. The operations were marked by extremely challenging conditions and emotionally taxing moments.
Kolivand recounted the rescue efforts, emphasizing the emotional strain on workers as they recovered the bodies of victims. Despite this, the teams' dedication allowed them to reach disaster sites swiftly, often within four minutes.
He further mentioned that reports documenting breaches of international humanitarian law were regularly submitted to international bodies to facilitate legal proceedings. The first conflict, initiated by the US and Israel against Iran, occurred in June 2025 and lasted 12 days, while the second began on February 28, 2026, concluding in early April after 40 days.
