Zarif Criticizes Rubio Over Anti-Iranian Remarks

Accra:Former Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif has expressed criticism toward US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and his speechwriter, arguing that both seem to lack an understanding of their own remarks.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zarif responded to recent statements made by Rubio on Iranian civilization, which he believes are an attempt to frame Western hostility toward Iran as a civilizational conflict. Zarif views these comments as an effort to superficially revive Huntington's 'Clash of Civilizations' theory without academic depth.

Zarif characterized Rubio as a figure opposed to negotiations within the United States, attributing his remarks to a limited understanding of global affairs.

Discussing the influence of media in modern and hybrid warfare, Zarif highlighted its critical role, stating that effective narrative shaping is crucial for advancing one's objectives in today's world. He emphasized that credibility is essential in narrative formation, warning that losing it equates to forfeiting control over the narrative to others.
