Tehran: President of the Iranian Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Pir Hossein Kolivand, in a phone call, has urged the Qatar Red Crescent Society to use its channels to follow up on the status of three missing Iranian pilots.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, a statement posted on the IRCS official website on Monday said Kolivand held an online meeting with Abdullah Sultan Al-Qattan, Acting Secretary General of the Qatar Red Crescent Society, to discuss the fate of the pilots currently detained there.

The Qatari official pledged his full cooperation in pursuing the matter and obtaining updates regarding the condition of the pilots who went missing during an operation in response to US-Israeli attacks on the country in the very first days of the imposed war.

One of the four pilots on a combat mission targeting an enemy military base in Qatar was martyred, while the others - namely Javad Salehi, Abdolmajid Dashtian, and Omran Behraveshian - remained in Qatar after their fighter jets were hit and they were forced to eject.

According to the statement, Kolivand and Al-Qattan also discussed expanding bilateral cooperation in relief and educational fields, as well as updating the existing Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two national societies.
