Iranian Referee Milad Ghalavand Selected for World U23 Wrestling Championships

Los angeles: Iranian international wrestling referee Milad Ghalavand has been selected as a referee at the 2026 World U23 Wrestling Championships in the United States, according to the head of the Arvand Free Zone Wrestling Board.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Omid Vaziri stated that Ghalavand, a Category I international referee, was selected with the approval of the Iranian Wrestling Federation to officiate at the competition.

He noted that Ghalavand is an experienced and active international referee who has officiated at major Asian and international competitions across several countries.

Vaziri further informed that Ghalavand has recently served as a referee at competitions in Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Spain, Turkey, Jordan, Hungary, Thailand, Albania, and Mongolia.

Ghalavand's participation in major international events demonstrates his experience and standing in the wrestling refereeing community and reflects the confidence of Iran's wrestling authorities in his abilities.

The World U23 Wrestling Championships will be held in Los Angeles, US, from October 11 to 19.
