Tehran:Iranian Minister of Education, Alireza Kazemi, has emphasized the pivotal role of students in Iran as they continue to stand against global arrogance.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Kazemi spoke at a ceremony marking November 4 as Student Day and the National Day of Fight Against Global Arrogance. He highlighted the legacy of 36,000 students who were martyred during the Sacred Defense era, referring to the Iraqi-imposed war against Iran, and the students from Minab and Lamerd who died confronting dominant powers.
Kazemi criticized US policies, noting four decades of pressure, sanctions, and hostile actions against Iran, asserting that US policy is centered on domination and exploitation. He cited US activities in countries such as Venezuela and the Persian Gulf littoral states as examples of oppressive actions.
He further stated that the Iranian nation has been resilient against US oppression for the past 47 years. During recent conflicts, Iran has lost many martyrs, including innocent students. Kazemi stressed the importance of awareness and vigilance in resisting hegemonic policies, asserting that the US does not desire progress for Iran.
