Jakarta: Iranian students have received five gold medals and two special awards at the International Science and Invention Fair (ISIF) underway in Indonesia. The event, which features 1,098 participating teams from 24 countries, spans eight fields: technical and engineering, chemistry and nanotechnology, biotechnology and environment, energy engineering, physics and astronomy, artificial intelligence and technology, social sciences, and education and educational technologies.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mahdi Rashidi Jahan, head of the Iranian team, stated that Iran participated in these competitions with three teams in person and two teams online. Countries present in the competition include Indonesia, Malaysia, Romania, Czech Republic, Russia, Turkmenistan, Thailand, Vietnam, South Africa, United Arab Emirates, India, Hong Kong, and China.
The Iranian team excelled in various categories. In the field of technical and engineering, the team of Ilia Majidzadeh and Parsa Karimi secured a gold m
edal and a special award, while Amir Abbas Kavoosi Amin and Artin Salari also clinched a gold medal in the same category. In the field of artificial intelligence technology, Nima Sohrabi won a gold medal and a special award for Romania.
The Valeh team, comprising Artin Radmatin, Niki Abtahi, Baran Bahman, Sarina Nosrati, and Mohammad Hossein Ezzati, achieved a gold medal in the field of environment. Furthermore, the team of Baran Derakhsandeh Daryasri, Paniz Khaljifar, Golshid Shirvani, and Yasaman Saeedi won a gold medal in biotechnology, adding to Iran’s impressive haul at the event.
