Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Sudan’s Minister of Finance and Economic Planning Gibril Ibrahim Mohamed met in Tehran to discuss mutual interests and enhance economic and trade relations between their countries.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting took place during the Sudanese minister’s visit to Iran, where he led an economic delegation. On Wednesday, Ibrahim Mohamed also engaged in talks with Iranian counterpart Abdolnaser Hemmati. Both parties expressed satisfaction over the renewal of political ties between Iran and Sudan, hoping this new phase would bolster economic and trade connections.
The Sudanese minister highlighted Sudan’s fertile land, suitable for agricultural products such as oilseeds, sesame, peanuts, and livestock farming, along with its rich underground resources. He conveyed the Sudanese government’s and people’s eagerness to strengthen economic relations and cooperation with Iran.

on of 45 million, is predominantly Muslim, with over 97% of its population following Islam. The country’s resources and strategic interests present significant opportunities for collaboration with the Islamic Republic.
