Nagoya:An Iranian woman has made history by becoming the first from her country to win a medal at the Asian Games, achieving this milestone in the 2026 competition.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, she competed in the 77 kg weightlifting category and secured a bronze medal by lifting a total of 243 kg. This achievement marks a significant moment in Iranian women's sports.

The women's weightlifting events began on Sunday morning, with Iranian athletes participating in the competitions held in Nagoya.
