Nagoya:Iranian women athletes have significantly increased the country's gold medal tally by 60 percent at the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Vice President for Women and Family Affairs Zahra Behrouz-Azar highlighted the athletes' success on social media, noting that Iranian women have historically won a total of five gold medals over the past 19 editions of the Games. This year, the athletes secured three gold medals in Nagoya, marking a 60 percent increase in their gold medal achievements.
Behrouz-Azar described this accomplishment as a historic record and a testament to the determination and abilities of Iranian women. She expressed pride in their achievements, underscoring their capability and resolve.
