Iran and Pakistan Plan Five-Year Cultural Tourism Roadmap

Accra:Iran's Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism and Handicrafts, Reza Salehi Amiri, has proposed a five-year roadmap to enhance cultural and tourism cooperation with Pakistan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during a meeting with Pakistan's Ambassador to Iran, Syed Imran Ahmed Siddiqui, Salehi Amiri emphasized the need to move beyond temporary agreements and establish a practical, long-term framework for cultural and tourism collaboration.

Salehi Amiri suggested establishing a joint cultural tourism route to showcase the historical, cultural, and natural attractions of both nations. He also advocated for stronger cooperation between tourism agencies and greater use of media and social networks to promote these attractions.

He highlighted that political and economic relations between the two countries could be strengthened through their longstanding cultural ties.

Ambassador Siddiqui called for the implementation of existing agreements between Iran and Pakistan and advocated for stronger connections among institutions, provinces, and cultural organizations. He emphasized the importance of concrete measures to boost travel and foster people-to-people contacts.

Siddiqui also proposed hosting an exhibition titled 'Pakistan Through Time' in Iran, aiming to highlight various periods of Pakistan's history and culture.
