Tunis: Iran's ambassador to Tunis has delivered an official invitation letter from Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi to his Tunisian counterpart, Mohamed Ali-Nafti. Mir-Masoud Hosseinian handed over the letter to Mohamed Ben Ayed, Tunisia's deputy foreign minister, during a meeting held in the absence of Ali-Nafti on Wednesday.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hosseinian and Ben Ayed exchanged views on issues of mutual interest and the progress of relations between Tehran and Tunis. This dialogue follows the recent meeting of the top diplomats from both countries on the sidelines of the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kampala in October.
During the meeting, Ben Ayed expressed his gratitude and conveyed greetings, assuring that he would forward Iran's invitation to Minister Ali-Nafti at the earliest opportunity. He also expressed hope that this potential visit in the new year would further accelerate and strengthen the relations between Iran and Tunisia.
