Araghchi Asserts Iran’s Commitment to Diplomacy in US Negotiations

Tehran: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has emphasized that if the American side shows its readiness for a fair and balanced agreement based on mutual interests, Iran will definitely consider the issue. Araghchi remarked that Iran has never left the negotiating table, as diplomacy is an integral part of the Iranian approach and principles.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi stated that it is the United States that must return to diplomacy with the Islamic Republic by regaining its trust. He reiterated that the door to negotiations and mediations is always open, provided that the rules are followed. Araghchi emphasized that the first principle of diplomacy and negotiation is that two parties must come to the negotiating table with the real intention of a fair and equal exchange. If one party’s goal is to impose its demands, such negotiations will not occur and will be fruitless.

Araghchi also pointed out that the main obstacle in Iran-US relations, which is preventing the start of negotiatio
ns at the moment, is the US approach based on imposing its demands and excessive expectations. He mentioned that Iran has unfortunately witnessed this behavior multiple times in its interactions with the US.
