Tehran: The IRGC's Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters has announced that the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) have targeted US bases in the region. This action is in response to what they describe as the aggression of the US military in the southern part of the country, which was allegedly under a false pretext related to a helicopter crash. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters emphasized that the assault was carried out by the Army of the Islamic Republic and the IRGC. The statement warned the US military that any repeated aggression against Iran would result in even more severe and widespread attacks on designated targets in the region. The development follows remarks by Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, who addressed the risks faced by foreign forces near Iran's territory. He suggested that these forces are at constant risk due to human errors, accidents, or crossfire and advocated for their withdrawal as a means to reduce these risks. Araghchi emphasized Iran's preference for diplomatic solutions but mentioned their readiness to respond in other ways if necessary.
