New delhi: Iran’s national para-track and field athlete, Sadegh Beit Sayah, has won the gold medal at the World Championships in India. Beit Sayah competed in the F41 class javelin throw and came first with a record of 48.86 meters, securing the gold medal on the last day of the 12th edition of the event held in New Delhi.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, with this medal, Beit Sayah brought the total number of medals won by the Iranian contingent to 15. Other Iranian athletes who achieved gold medals include Mehran Nikoee Majd, Yasin Khosravi, Ali Baziar, Seyed Ali Asghar Javanmardi, Hassan Bajolvand, Amir Hossein Alipour, Elham Salehi, and Saeed Afrooz. Meanwhile, Mehdi Olad and Hajar Safarzadeh earned bronze medals.
Erfan Bandari, Amanollah Papi, Elham Salehi, and Zeinab Moradi also contributed to Iran’s success by winning silver medals in the event. The 2025 World Para Athletics Championships concluded with a ceremony on Sunday evening, with Beit Sayah leading the Iranian contingent, proudly holding the national flag.
