Tehran:Iran's domestic defense industry played a critical role in supporting combat forces during the recent 12-day and 40-day imposed wars, according to Army Commander Major General Amir Hatami.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Hatami made these remarks during a meeting with Mehrdad Akhlaqi, managing director of the Defense Industries Organization of the Ministry of Defense and Armed Forces Logistics, at the Army headquarters in Tehran.
Hatami praised the specialists within the defense industry, highlighting their efforts to maintain production lines for military equipment and weapons despite adversarial attempts to disrupt these operations. He emphasized that the domestic defense industry, developed under the guidance of the martyred Leader of the nation, remains a steadfast supporter of Iranian forces on the battlefield.
He further added that, guided by the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, the collaboration of the armed forces and the Iranian people's involvement in various areas have successfully countered enemy strategies and objectives.
Hatami described Akhlaqi as an experienced and committed member of the defense sector, noting the Army's intention to further leverage his capabilities to enhance its combat and defense capacities.
Akhlaqi expressed the Defense Industries Organization's readiness to expand its cooperation with the Army's four branches to boost defense readiness and satisfy the requirements of the Armed Forces. He was introduced as President Masoud Pezeshkian's nominee for defense minister on Monday.
