Doha:The Islamic Republic plans to send a technical team to Qatar to continue discussions regarding Iranian pilots, a move confirmed by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Momeni announced the decision following meetings with Qatari officials in Doha. The discussions have already commenced, and it has been agreed that a technical delegation will return to Qatar to proceed with the talks.
Momeni also highlighted that his discussions with Qatari officials encompassed several bilateral issues concerning the two interior ministries. These included organized crime, coast guard cooperation, security matters, and efforts to combat drug trafficking.
Additionally, Momeni revealed that an expert-level security meeting would occur immediately following the Iranian delegation's visit. He emphasized that such meetings are expected to continue, reflecting ongoing cooperation.
The Iranian interior minister described the talks on expanding trade relations between Iran and Qatar as constructive. He emphasized Iran's commitment to regionalism and good-neighborly relations, stating that these are part of Iran's 'definitive policy.' Momeni noted that regional security is interconnected and should be achieved through collaboration among neighboring countries.
