Moscow: Iran’s Ambassador to Moscow Kazem Jalali has exchanged views with Russian and Armenian officials on the latest developments in the West Asia region. Jalali met with Alexander Babakov, Deputy Chairman of the Russian State Duma, on Friday, according to a press release by the Iranian embassy in Moscow.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussions between Jalali and Babakov focused on relations between Iran and Russia, with particular emphasis on expanding cooperation in various fields, especially emerging technologies. The meeting also addressed the Israeli war of aggression against Iran last month, which lasted 12 days and concluded with a ceasefire.
In a separate meeting on Friday, Jalali conversed with Armenia’s Ambassador to Russia, Gurgen Arsenyan. During this meeting, Jalali underscored the enduring and amicable relations between Iran and Armenia and the positive rapport between their authorities. He emphasized the importance of continuing high-level consultations between the two nations.
Jalali also provided Arsenyan with an update on recent events, highlighting the resilience of the Iranian nation amid the Israeli-imposed war, during which the United States intervened by bombing three major Iranian nuclear sites on June 24. Arsenyan affirmed the strong state of Iran-Armenia relations and emphasized the need for coordination between their embassies in Moscow to enhance bilateral cooperation and tackle regional issues.
The discussions between the two ambassadors also touched upon other developments in West Asia and matters related to the Caucasus region.
