Iran’s Foreign Trade Approaches $100 Billion in Seven Months: IRICA.

TEHRAN: Iran's foreign trade reached nearly $100 billion in the first seven months of the current Iranian year, from March 20 to October 21, 2024. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the head of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA), Mohammad Rezvanifar, reported that the foreign trade volume stood at $99.7 billion during this period. Out of the total trade volume, Iran's exports were valued at $60.2 billion. This included significant contributions from oil exports, technical services, and engineering sectors. Imports, including essential commodities such as gold ingots, accounted for $39.5 billion. The detailed breakdown of exports further revealed that non-oil exports were valued at $32.5 billion, oil exports constituted $27 billion, and technical-engineering exports were worth $700 million. The figures indicate Iran's robust trade performance despite challenging global economic conditions. The reliance on natural gas for electricity generation remains a significant contribu tor to the country's economic framework, as highlighted by an energy expert. Iran's strategic initiatives in sectors like rosewater production also underscore its diverse economic activities aimed at boosting foreign exchange revenues.
