Tehran: The Secretary-General of Iran's Islamic Coalition Party has urged China to take a stand against US unilateralism, calling on their strategic partnership to address these global power dynamics. The appeal was made during a meeting in Tehran with Cong Peiwu, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussions between Mohammad-Ali Amani and Ambassador Cong Peiwu revolved around recent regional developments, Iran's resistance to US and Israeli actions, post-war cooperation, and strategies to enhance trade and tourism between Iran and China. Amani proposed initiatives such as group visa facilitations, the creation of a green customs corridor, and the promotion of bilateral tourism.
In response, Ambassador Cong Peiwu affirmed China's unwavering support for Iran. He highlighted the importance of adhering to peace, respecting international law, and opposing hegemony, as outlined in the Chinese President's four-point proposal for global peace and stability. "It is in these difficult conditions that we recognize our true friends," Cong stated, emphasizing China's readiness to assist Iran both bilaterally and on the international stage in defense of justice.
Cong Peiwu acknowledged the challenges posed by the ongoing conflict but noted the opportunity these difficulties present to strengthen mutual political trust. "We consider strengthening this trust a priority," he concluded.
