Deputy Foreign Minister Emphasizes Iran’s Firm Stance in US Talks

Tehran: Kazem Gharibabadi, Iran's deputy foreign minister for legal and international affairs, has informed members of Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission about the ongoing negotiations with the United States, emphasizing Tehran's steadfast commitment to its principles and national interests.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi delivered a detailed report on the progress of the negotiations, recent developments, and the decisions taken by Iranian officials and the negotiating team during a meeting with the commission members on Tuesday. The session also covered the outcomes of the recent BRICS foreign ministers' summit in India, where Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi participated, and the objectives of the recent visit by the Pakistani interior minister to Iran.

During the meeting, Gharibabadi outlined Iran's proposed framework to the US, stressing the determination of Iranian decision-makers and negotiators to uphold principles and maintain frameworks aimed at preserving the country's sovereignty and national interests. Members of the parliamentary commission engaged in the session by posing views and questions, which Gharibabadi addressed with explanations.

The Iranian proposal to end the conflict includes the nation's insistence on the right to uranium enrichment and peaceful nuclear activities, cessation of hostilities on all fronts, including Lebanon, lifting of the US naval blockade, release of Iranian assets, compensation from the United States for war damages to aid reconstruction efforts, removal of unilateral sanctions and UN Security Council resolutions, and the withdrawal of US forces from areas around the Islamic Republic.
