Tehran: Chairman of the Chief of Staff of Iran’s Armed Forces, Major General Abdolrahim Mousavi, has condemned Israel’s assassination of several top Yemeni officials, asserting that this move is a sign of growing fear over the expanding resistance against the Israeli regime in the West Asia region.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mousavi made these remarks in a message addressed to his Yemeni counterpart and the people of Yemen. The message was released by the General Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces following the deaths of Yemeni Prime Minister Ahmed Ghaleb al-Rahawi and several senior officials in an Israeli airstrike on Sana on Thursday.
Mousavi described the attack as a blatant war crime and a violation of international law, characterizing the Israeli regime as a global terrorism ringleader. He emphasized that the assassination is part of Israel’s aggressive and expansionist policies, supported by its allies, particularly the United States.
He further stated that the crime reflects a profound fear of the expanding axis of resistance and the unity of regional nations in defending the Palestinian cause and countering occupation. Mousavi stressed that such acts would not weaken the resolve of Yemeni fighters, who remain steadfast in their support for Palestine, particularly the Gaza Strip.
Mousavi highlighted that despite sanctions, blockades, and continuous Israeli aggression, the Yemeni people have emerged as a symbol of resistance against global arrogance. He expressed confidence that, with divine assistance, Yemen will overcome its current challenges and achieve its aspirations, reiterating Iran’s unwavering support for the Yemeni people and their goals.
