Tianjin: Cooperation between Iran and Tajikistan is steadily expanding across all sectors, as confirmed by President Masoud Pezeshkian who emphasized the importance of transmitting the two nations’ shared cultural heritage to future generations. Pezeshkian made these remarks during a meeting with Tajikistan’s President Emomali Rahmon at the 25th Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit in Tianjin, China.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian president expressed satisfaction with the frequent meetings and exchanges between the two countries’ officials, which have fortified friendship and brotherhood between the culturally connected nations. Pezeshkian highlighted the recent positive growth in cooperation concerning transit, trade, tourism, science, and people-to-people exchanges.
Addressing the situation in Gaza, President Pezeshkian condemned the Israeli regime’s ongoing attacks, attributing these actions to the support of the United States. He urged Islamic countries and international and regional organizations to take all possible measures to halt these crimes.
President Rahmon, in response, expressed a strong interest in deepening ties with Iran, particularly in the areas of economy, investment, and culture. He also condemned the June military aggression by Israel and the United States against Iran. Rahmon praised Iran’s historical, cultural, scientific, and civilizational contributions, underlining the constructive cooperation between Tehran and Dushanbe on various levels.
