Tehran: The Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration (IRICA) has reported that the total value of Iran’s non-oil trade surpassed $34.175 billion during the first four months of the current Iranian calendar year, which began on March 21, 2025.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, IRICA’s report revealed that a total of 61.20 million tons of non-oil goods were exported from Iran between March 21 and July 22, 2025. This marks a 0.48 percent increase in terms of weight compared to the same period last year, although there was a 10% decrease in the total value. The non-oil trade comprised exports of 48.811 million tons worth $16.549 billion and imports of 12.209 million tons valued at $17.627 billion.
The report further detailed that non-oil exports increased by 1.46% in volume but saw a decline of 5.51% in value. On the import side, there was a decrease of 3.23% in volume and a 14.20% reduction in value. Petrochemicals formed a significant part of the exports, with 17.402 million tons valued at $6.
894 billion, showing an 8.30 percent decline in weight and a 10.22 percent decline in value compared to the previous year.
The primary products exported included natural gas, liquefied propane, methanol, liquefied butane, and oil bitumen. In terms of imports, the key items were unrefined gold, animal feed corn, rice, sunflower seed oil, and soybeans. China, Iraq, the United Arab Emirates (U.A.E.), Turkiye, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Oman were the main export markets for Iran. Meanwhile, the U.A.E., China, Turkiye, India, Germany, Russia, and the Netherlands were the primary import partners.
