Geneva: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf says Gaza has today become a ‘museum of humanity’s crimes’ and a ‘laboratory for testing killing technologies,’ urging global action to stop the ’21st-century Nazism.’

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Qalibaf made these statements at the Sixth World Conference of Speakers of Parliament in Geneva on Wednesday. He expressed concern that while discussions on multilateralism for peace and justice were taking place, these ideals were being undermined and the credibility of international institutions was eroding.

Qalibaf highlighted that Iran was recently subjected to military aggression by Israel, with support from the United States, resulting in the death of approximately 1,100 Iranian citizens. He mentioned that peaceful nuclear facilities monitored by the International Atomic Energy Agency (I.A.E.A.) were targeted, and the lack of condemnation from the Agency legitimized the attack, affecting non-proliferation policies.

He detailed the events of June 13, when Israel conducted an unprovoked attack on Iran, leading to the assassination of military commanders and nuclear scientists, and the death of civilians. On June 22, the United States bombed three Iranian nuclear facilities, violating international law and the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty (N.P.T.), prompting Iran to retaliate successfully, halting the assaults.

Qalibaf presented images of Israeli actions against children in Tehran and Gaza, stressing that the aggression did not result from diplomatic failure but occurred amidst political negotiations. He argued that Iran was committed to dialogue but was forced to defend itself against aggression.

He warned that the impunity of the Zionist regime’s actions undermines the legitimacy of the international order and threatens global peace by encouraging further crimes. Qalibaf noted that 120 countries condemned Israel’s actions, but the influence of its supporters hindered decisive international action.

Qalibaf criticized institutions meant to safeguard peace for remaining silent in the face of aggression, accusing them of protecting aggressors while blaming victims. He urged that Gaza should not remain a site of ongoing crimes and called for urgent action to prevent further atrocities.
