Tehran: Iran's President Masoud Pezeshkian has reinforced the nation's dedication to pursuing nuclear technology within the legal frameworks of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). In a meeting with the IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi in Tehran, Pezeshkian emphasized that Iran's nuclear ambitions align with international standards and reiterated the country's stance against developing nuclear weapons, as guided by a religious edict, or fatwa. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, President Pezeshkian highlighted Iran's readiness to cooperate with international entities to clarify any concerns about its peaceful nuclear activities. He pointed out that IAEA reports confirm Iran's compliance with the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), despite the United States' unilateral withdrawal from the agreement. The president also addressed the ongoing regional crisis, condemning the Zionist regime's actions in Gaza and Lebanon. He recalled the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran on hi s first day in office, an act he claims intensified regional unrest. Pezeshkian criticized the regime for breaching international laws by targeting civilians and essential infrastructure, while being supported by nations claiming to champion human rights. Highlighting the global call for action, Pezeshkian stressed that human rights advocates and international organizations must not remain silent in the face of these violations. He affirmed Iran's stance against war, stating it is detrimental to all parties involved but vowed a firm response to any threats to national security. In response, IAEA's Grossi commended President Pezeshkian's peaceful orientation and expressed optimism for enhanced relations during Pezeshkian's presidency. He acknowledged the cooperation from Iran's Atomic Energy Organization and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, stating that continued collaboration with the IAEA would counteract adverse plans against Iran's nuclear program. Grossi's visit to Tehran, beginning on Wednesday, marks a significant step towards fostering these relations.
