Tehran: Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi has stated that Iran’s response to the United States’ proposal concerning its nuclear program will be logical and reliable, aimed at facilitating the continuation of negotiations.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in an exclusive interview, Takht-e-Ravanchi addressed inquiries about when Iran’s written response to the U.S. proposal would be finalized and delivered to Oman. He indicated that the response is still being prepared but progress has been made. The response is expected to be reasonable and could be handed over to Oman’s Foreign Minister in the coming days, who will then convey it to the U.S.
Takht-e-Ravanchi explained that Iran’s proposal is comprehensive and cannot be easily dismissed. It includes elements that demonstrate seriousness and a defined framework based on established principles. He emphasized that the proposal should have internal coherence, ensuring a logical beginning and end without contradictions.
Although the text has not been finalized, it serves as a credible basis for further discussions. Takht-e-Ravanchi mentioned that if there is political will from the other side, there is potential for progress. He noted that while some sections of the negotiation might be agreed upon quickly, others may require more time.
The Deputy Foreign Minister clarified that the current proposal is not excessively lengthy, as the intention is not to present a comprehensive, time-consuming agreement. Instead, it serves as a framework for an agreement, which could lead to more detailed negotiations if mutual understanding is achieved.
He further emphasized that the proposed text from Tehran could maintain the diplomatic pathway open, facilitating the current process toward reaching a final agreement.
