Tehran: Iran’s top military official, Major General Mohammad Bagheri, has issued a message to mark the Islamic Revolution Guard’s Day, emphasizing its significance as designated by the late Imam Khomeini. The day coincides with the birth anniversary of the third Shia Imam, Imam Hossein, serving as a tribute to those at the forefront of safeguarding Iran’s Islamic Revolution and national security.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Major General Bagheri highlighted the vital contributions of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) throughout Iran’s history. The commander praised the IRGC’s capability in neutralizing adversarial plots, asserting that the Iranian nation takes pride in having such a powerful and capable military force. He also paid tribute to the sacrifices made by the IRGC, particularly honoring Lieutenant General Qassem Soleimani for his efforts toward the liberation of Palestine and upholding Islamic principles.
In a statement from the IRGC Public Relations office, the force was described as a hub of dedicated and faithful individuals, celebrated as true servants of the nation and protectors of the Islamic Revolution’s ideals. The statement further emphasized the IRGC’s effectiveness and popularity as its “social capital,” which continues to frustrate the enemies of the Islamic Republic.
