Iran’s Tourism Minister Engages in Strategic Discussions with UN Tourism Secretary-General

Riyadh: Minister of Cultural Heritage, Tourism, and Handicrafts Reza Salehi-Amiri has met with Zurab Pololikashvili, the Secretary-General of the UN Tourism, in Riyadh. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 26th General Assembly of the UN Tourism, where Salehi-Amiri acknowledged the significant role of Pololikashvili in steering the activities of the organization.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Salehi-Amiri highlighted his extensive experience spanning over four decades in international engagements and collaboration with high-ranking officials across Europe and Asia. He attributed the positive perception Iranians hold of Pololikashvili to the Secretary-General’s professional integrity and humane approach. Salehi-Amiri emphasized that Iran’s cooperation with the UN Tourism has consistently been grounded in mutual respect and trust.

During the meeting, Pololikashvili recognized Iran as an active and dependable partner of the UN Tourism. He commended Iran’s constructive involvement in the organization’s programs and strategic initiatives. Pololikashvili remarked on Iran’s potential as a major tourist destination, noting its beauty, safety, and rich cultural heritage.
