Iran: Iran's Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has extended an invitation to Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to visit Tehran, emphasizing that the new trajectory in Tehran-Riyadh relations is an 'irreversible' path. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref made this invitation during a meeting with the Saudi crown prince on the sidelines of an extraordinary session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the Arab League in Riyadh. He highlighted that the deepening of relations between Iran and Saudi Arabia would not only benefit the two nations but also enhance regional cooperation and solidarity among Islamic countries, given their significant influence in the region and the Islamic world. The meeting, described as cordial, saw Aref conveying greetings from Iran's president and expressing optimism that the strengthening of political ties would be accompanied by expansions in economic, cultural, scientific, and technological fields. Aref asserted that high-level meetings between the two nations would open new avenues in their relationship, given their roles as influential members of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, particularly concerning issues in Palestine and Lebanon. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in response, commended the Iranian vice president's prudent positions and acknowledged the efforts of Iran's foreign minister in negotiations with Saudi counterparts. He concurred with Aref's statement on the irreversibility of the bilateral relations, stating that the progress achieved, which includes further expansion and deepening of ties with Iran, is seen as favorable by Saudi Arabia.
