Tehran: Iraq's consul general in Kermanshah has engaged in discussions with the governor of Ilam Province to explore the expansion of border cooperation and trade between Iraq and Iran's border provinces. The meeting aimed at strengthening the economic ties between the two neighboring nations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the meeting with Governor Ahmad Karami, Iraqi Consul General Saadoun al-Saedi underscored the significant influence of the economy in international dynamics, asserting that economic power has surpassed military power in today's world. He highlighted the current favorable conditions for reinforcing domestic and regional economic infrastructures through revitalized border cooperation and joint commercial exchanges.

The Iraqi consul general also acknowledged the resilience of the Iranian people in the face of US aggression, noting Iran's ability to counterbalance America's military influence in the region through the determination of its citizens and the use of domestically developed weaponry, thereby altering the regional power dynamics.
