Tehran: The Consul General of Iraq in Ilam province, Saadoun al-Saedi, highlighted the significant potential for expanding commercial and tourism links between Ilam and Iraq's border provinces due to their geographical and cultural closeness.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during a meeting with the Governor of Ilam on Monday, al-Saedi pointed out that the province's proximity and cultural ties create favorable conditions for enhancing economic, trade, and security cooperation with Iraq's border regions. He emphasized that ongoing efforts aim to foster trade between Ilam and Iraq's neighboring provinces, focusing on leveraging the capacities of governors and officials from both countries.
