Amman: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has confirmed the launch of ballistic missiles targeting a hangar at Prince Hassan Airbase in Jordan, which houses American RQ-4 and MQ-9 drones. This action is reported to be a response to recent US military actions against Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC Aerospace Force executed a significant missile attack on the US airbase, resulting in the destruction of several drones. The attack also led to the deaths of some pilots and flight maintenance crew members. In addition, multiple infrastructure facilities at the airbase were set on fire due to the missile strikes.

The IRGC stated that this missile attack was in direct retaliation for a US airstrike that occurred near the city of Sirik in Hormuzgan Province. The US strike targeted a wedding ceremony for a Sunni couple, resulting in the deaths of at least five individuals, including a child, and leaving dozens injured.
