IRGC Navy Reports Four Oil-Carrying Ships Hit in Persian Gulf

Accra:Tehran The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) Navy has reported that four ships were hit and caught fire while transferring oil cargoes in the northern Persian Gulf. Additionally, three other vessels experienced incidents after striking mines west of the Strait of Hormuz.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC Navy stated that the four vessels were tracked after they used unauthorized routes, despite previous warnings issued to maritime companies. The ships were simultaneously discovered transferring oil cargoes in the northern part of the Persian Gulf when they were hit.

The IRGC Navy further reported that three ships struck mines and caught fire west of the Strait of Hormuz on Wednesday night, leaving them immobilized. In a statement, the IRGC Navy accused the United States of encouraging ships to use an illegal, mined passage, warning that this was increasing maritime incidents.
