Tehran: The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) says a US attack on the Persian Gulf island of Larak left several Iranian military personnel and civilians martyred and wounded, and vowed to respond to the act of aggression. In a statement on Sunday night, the IRGC's public relations office said the act of aggression of 'the American-Zionist enemy' was born out of 'desperation' to revive its sinister role and diminishing credibility among regional states.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IRGC emphasized that the attack would not go unanswered. The statement declared that the Iranian Armed Forces would respond and that the aggressor would face punishment. The IRGC's comments reflect heightened tensions in the region, underscoring the potential for further conflict in response to the incident.
