New delhi: Iran's Judiciary Chief, Gholam-Hossein Mohseni-Eje'i, has called for a fair international legal order, emphasizing that justice must not be selective or influenced by political considerations, nor should it be shaped by a country's power and influence.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Mohseni-Eje'i addressed the BRICS meeting of heads of judicial systems in New Delhi, stressing the importance of adherence to law as a fundamental pillar of justice, order, and progress. He argued that respect for international law can help prevent unilateralism and the coercive imposition of powerful states' demands.

Mohseni-Eje'i highlighted that BRICS, as a significant economic and political bloc, consistently emphasizes mutual respect, national sovereignty, territorial integrity, peaceful dispute resolution, and adherence to the United Nations Charter. He urged BRICS members to support an international order where no power considers itself above the law.

The Judiciary Chief also criticized widespread violations of human rights and humanitarian law, unilateral sanctions, and attacks on independent nations. He called upon judicial and legal entities to address violations involving civilians, forced displacement, damage to infrastructure, and impunity for perpetrators of international crimes.

Addressing recent attacks against Iran, Mohseni-Eje'i accused the United States and the Israeli regime of committing war crimes and criticized international organizations for their inadequate responses. He urged BRICS members to condemn violations of Iran's sovereignty and territorial integrity under international law and to take measures against aggressors.

Finally, Mohseni-Eje'i called for the prosecution of those responsible for war crimes and crimes against humanity committed during conflicts against Iran, under the principle of universal jurisdiction.
