Kuwait International Airport Halts Operations Amid Regional Tensions

Kuwait city: Takeoff and landing operations have been temporarily suspended at Kuwait International Airport, as announced by Kuwait's national carrier. This decision was made public on Saturday, with the airline rescheduling most of its flights due to the suspension, Anadolu Ajansi (AA) reported.

According to Nam News Network, Kuwait Airways issued a statement through the state-run KUNA news agency, indicating that the operational halt was a direct result of Iranian aggression. The airline advised passengers to remain informed about their flight statuses amid the disruptions.

This development unfolds amidst escalating tensions in the Middle East, following US strikes on Iran and subsequent retaliatory actions by Tehran targeting regional countries, including Kuwait, which accommodates US military assets. The conflict between Washington and Tehran continues despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June, aimed at ending the hostilities and establishing a durable peace agreement.
