Kuwait city: Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced on Saturday that one of its vital oil facilities suffered damage from repeated Iranian attacks, resulting in "significant material damage and some injuries," as reported by Anadolu Ajansi (AA).
According to Nam News Network, the injured individuals received medical assistance, and the facility was evacuated. The response to the attack is being managed in coordination with relevant state authorities, as stated in a report by the state-run news agency KUNA.
Earlier, Kuwait's Ministry of Electricity, Water and Renewable Energy reported a fire at a component of a power generation and water desalination plant following Iranian attacks early Saturday.
These developments occur amid escalating tensions in West Asia, where the US conducted strikes on Iran, and Tehran responded with strikes on regional countries, including Kuwait, which hosts US assets.
The exchange of fire between Washington and Tehran persists despite a Pakistan-brokered memorandum of understanding signed in June, aimed at ending hostilities and achieving a lasting peace agreement.
