Larijani Advocates for Enhanced Iran-Pakistan Relations to Bolster Regional Peace

Islamabad: Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Larijani, has called for stronger ties with Pakistan, emphasizing that the cooperation between the two neighbors contributes significantly to peace and tranquility in the region. Larijani underscored Pakistan’s strategic regional importance during his interaction with reporters upon his arrival in Islamabad.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Larijani highlighted Pakistan’s influence and privileged position in shaping regional security dynamics. He also pointed to the deep historical and cultural ties between Tehran and Islamabad, stressing that the evolving regional conditions necessitate enhanced cooperation across multiple fields. Larijani expressed optimism about addressing these issues in his scheduled talks with high-ranking political and military officials of Pakistan during his two-day visit.

The discussions between Larijani and Pakistani officials will focus on reviewing Iran-Pakistan bilateral relations, pursuing joint agreements, and exploring regional and international developments, including those within the Islamic world. Before departing for Islamabad, Larijani referred to Pakistan as a ‘friendly and brotherly country’ on his X account, acknowledging the support the Pakistani nation extended to Iran during the 12-day imposed war of the Israeli regime and the United States against Iran in mid-June.

Larijani noted that Iran and Pakistan, as significant and influential countries, consistently prioritize peace and security in the region.
