Leader Appoints Six Senior Commanders to Key Military Positions

Tehran: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Sayyid Mojtaba Hosseini Khamenei has issued separate decrees appointing six senior commanders and officials to key positions within the Armed Forces General Staff, the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), and the Basij Organization. The appointments were announced on Monday evening, with the decrees assigning new responsibilities to senior military figures.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the newly appointed officials include Brigadier General Ali Abdollahi, who has been named Chief of Staff of Iran's Armed Forces, and Brigadier General Kioumars Heydari, who has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces. These appointments highlight significant changes in the military leadership structure.

In another significant move, Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi was promoted to the rank of Major General and appointed Chief Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps. Similarly, Major General Mostafa Izadi has been appointed as Deputy Commander of the IRGC, marking another shift in the upper echelons of the military leadership.

Meanwhile, Rear Admiral Ali Ozamaei has been assigned command of the IRGC Navy, a critical position given the strategic importance of maritime security in the region. Additionally, Hojjat al-Islam Hossein Taeb has been appointed as head of the Basij Organization, taking on a pivotal role in the paramilitary force.
