Tehran: Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has praised parliaments that uphold Islamic values and moral integrity. Ayatollah Khamenei addressed a group of parliamentarians at the Imam Khomeini Complex on Wednesday, in anticipation of Eid al-Ghadir, a significant occasion for Shia Muslims.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ayatollah Khamenei extended his felicitations to all Muslims on the occasion of Eid al-Ghadir, emphasizing its importance for Islamic countries. He highlighted the critical distinction between a parliament guided by Islamic values and one that deviates from these principles. The Leader contrasted parliaments composed of honest individuals committed to justice and supporting the oppressed with those filled with negligent members who favor oppression, discrimination, and criminals, such as the Israeli regime.
Ayatollah Khamenei noted the unparalleled role of Parliament in the Islamic Republic, commending the synergy between Parliament and the administration. He stressed that a parliament should reflect national determination and highlighted the importance of regular coordination among the heads of government branches. This coordination, he noted, is a positive step toward addressing the country’s challenges.
He advised the Iranian nation to carefully discern the criteria of the school of the Islamic Revolution. Individuals willing to act in accordance with this school must be courageous in expressing their opinions, ensuring that personal values and political orientations do not interfere with professional responsibilities. Ayatollah Khamenei emphasized the need for a unified national voice on critical issues, urging the people and officials to act ‘as one hand.’
