Tehran: Ali-Akbar Velayati, a senior advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution on international affairs, has renewed his warning over escalating tensions in the region, stating that West Asia is not a place for the political gambles of small nations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a message posted on his X network on Wednesday, Velayati emphasized that Iran had previously cautioned against the political gambling of smaller regional countries and has repeatedly demonstrated that any adventurism would be met with an immediate response.

Velayati also attributed the current escalating tensions to the United States, following President Donald Trump's rhetoric that the ceasefire deal with Iran is 'over' and that negotiations with Tehran are a 'waste of time.' He asserted that the responsibility for the fresh provocations and the verbal admission regarding the nullification of the agreement lies with what he described as the bandit-like notorious politician and his Epstein-linked policy, which is once again pushing the region toward conflict.

The advisor underscored that the Axis of Resistance would not remain silent in the face of humiliation and adventurism, stating that it stands ready with its finger on the trigger. His remarks came in the wake of fresh US aggression against coastal regions of Iran, which prompted the Iranian Armed Forces to retaliate by targeting 85 American military installations in the Persian Gulf region.
