Beirut: Lebanese Foreign Minister Youssef Rajji has extended an invitation to open a new chapter in the relationship between Lebanon and Iran. This initiative was highlighted in his message responding to Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's congratulatory note on the occasion of the birth of Jesus Christ and the New Year.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Lebanese foreign minister emphasized the necessity of fostering balanced relations with Iran that respect Lebanon's sovereignty and independence. He conveyed that the pursuit of peace and prosperity is a shared objective for Lebanon, Iran, and the broader region.

Minister Rajji expressed his readiness to commence a sincere and transparent dialogue aimed at building trust between the two nations. He underscored that the relationship should be grounded in a constructive approach and mutual respect, with bilateral cooperation strictly occurring between the governments and legal institutions of the two countries. This approach, he believes, will ensure the preservation of both nations' sovereignty and independence, ultimately benefiting the welfare of the people of Iran and Lebanon.
