Tehran: Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has challenged recent claims by US President Donald Trump, drawing attention to hunger and food insecurity in the United States.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a post on X on Monday, Ghalibaf wrote: 'MAKE AMERICA HUNGRY AGAIN!', mocking Trump's well-known campaign slogan. Ghalibaf cited figures on hunger and food insecurity in the United States, pointing out that 47 million Americans face hunger, one in eight Americans struggles with food insecurity, and 16 million US children go hungry every day.

He also said food insecurity exists in every county in the United States. The Parliament speaker added, 'You can't cover up defeats with false claims,' in reference to Trump's recent claims regarding Iran.
