Tehran: The Secretariat of the Supreme National Security Council (SNSC) has paid tribute to Ali Larijani, the late secretary of the top security body, who was martyred in a US-Israeli bombing. The SNSC described Larijani as a source of inspiration for the people and a guide and mentor for the elite.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, in a message released on Wednesday, marking the 40th day since Larijani's assassination, the SNSC Secretariat hailed him as a practical embodiment of someone who sincerely believed in Velayat-e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) and closely followed the Leader of the Islamic Revolution.
The SNSC remembered Martyr Larijani as "the brave and far-sighted" secretary who dedicated his life to the service of Iran, its proud nation, and the Islamic Revolution. His legacy of revolutionary and wise politics is expected to be remembered for many years.
The Secretariat emphasized that Larijani was always prepared to take on serious responsibilities and challenging tasks for his country, marking him as a torch-bearer in political decision-making. His impactful words and actions were instrumental in guiding the nation through perilous times.
Larijani, along with his son Morteza, deputy for security affairs at the SNSC's secretariat, Alireza Bayat, and several security team members, was assassinated on March 17 in Tehran during a US-Israeli airstrike as part of a broader conflict against the country.
