Mexico City Landmarks Illuminate in Iran’s Flag Colors for Tehran Day

Mexico City:In a symbolic gesture to commemorate Tehran Day, several of Mexico City's iconic landmarks, including the Zócalo, the Angel of Independence, and the Cuahtémoc Monument, were illuminated in the colors of Iran's flag.

According to the Islamic Republic News Agency, the ceremony was attended by Iran's Ambassador to Mexico, Abolfazl Pasandideh, alongside Mexico City officials. The event featured the national anthems of both countries and emphasized the cultural friendship between Iran and Mexico.

Pasandideh expressed gratitude for the illumination of these prominent symbols of Mexico City in Iran's national colors. He noted a similar gesture three weeks prior when the Azadi Tower in Tehran was lit in the colors of Mexico's flag.

The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Mexico appreciated the cooperation with the Mexico City government, describing the event as a meaningful sign of friendship and brotherhood between the two nations. The Iranian Ambassador expressed his hope for the deepening of ties in academic, cultural, and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
